The Perma-Tune model 911 SC is the ideal upgrade for the stock ignition system for Porsche 911's 1978 to 1983 and 911 Turbo's from 1978 to 1989. The advantage of the Perma-Tune system is to produce a hotter and longer-lasting spark.This improves combustion, re"duces emissions and improves engine horsepower.
The model 911 SC Perma-Tune is designed to replace the stock ignition box and will bolt up plug in to the same location asthe stock system. By design, Perma-tune ignition boxes make very little heat of their own.
The model 911 SC increases spark energy by a factor of three times that of the stock ignition system. This is why spark plugs will never foul again, and will actually recover from fuel contaminations and then adjust the engine timing using a timing ligh.
